Jedediah Island (49˚30'00" 124˚12'00" Sabine Channel, between Lasqueti I and Texada I, Str of Georgia). Jedediah Stevens Tucker was the eldest son of Benjamin Tucker (1762–1829), secretary to RN hero Sir John Jervis (Earl St Vincent) and later 2nd secretary to the Admiralty. Using his father’s papers, Jedediah wrote a two-volume biography of Jervis in 1844. Jedediah’s brother, John Jervis Tucker (1802–86), was also an RN admiral (see Jervis I).
