Jericho Beach


Jericho Beach (49˚17'00" 123˚12'00" S side of Burrard Inlet, W of False Ck, Vancouver). The name may be a corrupted form of Jerry’s Cove, referring to Jeremiah Rogers (1818–79), a well-known early logger in the Vancouver area. Born in NB, he came to the PNW in the 1850s and was providing logs for Edward Stamp’s pioneer sawmill at Alberni in 1860.
