Jessop Island

Jessop Island (52˚40'00" 128˚48'00" Entrance to Trahey Inlet, Laredo Sd, S end of Princess Royal I). John Jessop (1829–1901), born at Norwich, England, immigrated to Ont with his parents in 1846. He trained as a teacher under Egerton Ryerson, the influential superintendent of education for Canada West, and worked at Whitby for several years.
