Kisameet Bay


Kisameet Bay (51˚58'00" 127˚53'00" SW side of King I, E side of Fisher Channel, SE of Bella Bella), Kisameet Islands (In Kisameet Bay). Named in 1946, along with nearby Kisameet Lk, after an important Heiltsuk First Nation reserve and former village site at this location. In 2003 the 32-m, US-owned pocket cruise ship Safari Spirit ran aground in this popular but rocky anchorage and later sank.
