Kitson Island


Kitson Island (54˚11'00" 130˚19'00" Off NW Smith I, Chatham Sd, S of Prince Rupert), Kitson Islet (Off NE side of Kitson I). Royal Marines Lt George Andrew Noble Kitson (1845–1927), from Woolwich, Kent, served on the Pacific Station in 1866–67 aboard HMS Malacca, under Capt Radulphus Oldfield. He retired in 1869, was appointed to the Exchequer’s Office of Pleas in England and married Mary Luskey Paull at London in 1874.
