Knarston Rock (52˚43'00" 129˚22'00" NE of Moore Is, off NW side of Aristazabal I). James Sinclair Knarston (1854–1923) came to BC from England in 1887 with his Scottish wife, Robina (b 1864), and daughter, Helen, and was later harbourmaster at Nanaimo. He is listed as a clerk at Nanaimo in the 1898 BC voters list and a bookkeeper in the 1901 census. Knarston Ck at Lantzville, near Nanaimo, is also named for him.
