Lakken Point

Lakken Point (50˚30'00" 127˚36'00" SE end of Drake I, Quatsino Sd, NW end of Vancouver I). Bernhard Christian Lakken (1860–1923) pre-empted land in the Quatsino area in 1895 and acquired a Crown grant there in 1901. His surname appears in records more frequently as Lokken; variant spellings of his first names are also found. Lokken was a farmer, prospector, school trustee and loyal member of the Scandinavian colony that settled Quatsino in the late 1890s. He died at Vancouver. The name was...
