Langdale (49˚26'00" 123˚28'00" W side of Howe Sd, NW of Vancouver). In 1893, Robinson Henry Langdale (1835–1908) pre-empted land on the creek (also named after him) that runs into Howe Sd at this location and established a tidy homestead. He received a Crown grant in 1908. In 1955 the Black Ball Line’s ferry dock was moved to this area from Gibsons, ending Langdale’s agricultural seclusion. The site is now a busy BC Ferries terminal.
