Lenz Islet

Lenz Islet (52˚12'00" 128˚29'00" Off W side of Athlone I, Milbanke Sd, W of Bella Bella). Caroline Lenz (1855–1935) was born at Milwaukee, where her father, Jacob Lenz (1819–99), owned a brewery. In 1871 she married her cousin Simon Leiser (1851–1917), who had emigrated from Germany in 1868 to become her father’s apprentice—and eventual partner. The Leisers determined to seek out new opportunities in the PNW and in 1873 moved to Victoria, where Simon opened a coffee and spice shop....
