Lina Island


Lina Island (53˚14'00" 132˚07'00" W of Bearskin Bay, W of Skidegate Inlet, QCI), Lina Narrows (53˚14'00" 132˚08'00" Between Lina I and Graham I). The name is an adaptation of the Haida word for the First Nation fort that once occupied one of the Balch Is, just off the SE side of Lina I. There were a number of important Haida habitations on Lina over the years, including Lina village, Gaodjaos (“Drum Village”) and Gasins (“Gambling Sticks”), where significant petroglyphs are located....
