Lyche Island (48˚57'00" 125˚33'00" Ucluelet Inlet, NW side of Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). August Herman Lyche (1864–1939), who was born at Dramman, Norway, came to Ucluelet in the early 1890s with fellow settler John Kvarno (see Kvarno I) and was induced to stay by trader William Spring.
