Mabens Beach

Mabens Beach (48˚45'00" 125˚08'00" S of Pachena Bay, SE of Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). William (1867–1952) and Charlotte M Maben (1884–1963, née Marshall) were pioneer homesteaders on Pachena Bay in the 1920s and later moved closer to Bamfield. Their original home, called Cedar Cottage, was then occupied by William’s brother, John Maben (1880–1969), and his wife Mamie and family, who moved there from British Malaya.
