Manson Point


Manson Point (52˚10'00" 128˚00'00" N side of Denny I, Gunboat Passage, just E of Bella Bella). Donald Manson (1796–1880), born at Caithness, Scotland, had a long career with the HBC, joining in 1817 and taking part in several expeditions across the western prairies in the early 1820s. He was transferred to the W coast in 1825, serving at Ft Vancouver, Ft Langley (which he helped build) and Ft George before taking charge at Ft Simpson on the N coast, 1831–34.
