Mark Bay

Mark Bay (49˚10'54" 123˚56'00" S end of Newcastle I, N side of Nanaimo Hbr, E side of Vancouver I). After Mark Bate, first mayor of Nanaimo (see Bate Point for a more detailed biography). Mt Mark on Vancouver I is also named for him. Mark Bay was known locally for many years as Echo Bay.
