Martin Rock

Martin Rock (50˚19'00" 127˚53'00" SW of Mayday I, Side Bay, just S of Quatsino Sd, NW end of Vancouver I). Capt Martin (his first name has unfortunately been lost) was an early skipper in the Victoria-based, W coast sealing industry. He arrived in 1892 from Halifax, bringing with him the schooner Arietes and making the trip, via Cape Horn, in 128 days.
