McCulloch Rock


McCulloch Rock (54˚35'00" 131˚12'00" E end of Dixon Entrance, W of Zayas I, NW of Prince Rupert). William McCulloch (1827–1906) was born in Ireland and went to sea at the tender age of 12. He arrived in BC from London as mate of the barque Nanette, which was wrecked on Race Rks in 1860. Remaining on the W coast, he served as a master of local trading schooners, including the North Star, which he took to San Francisco during the US Civil War and was fired on while entering the harbour there...
