McNiffe Rock (50˚31'00" 127˚36'00" E of Drake I, Quatsino Sd, NW Vancouver I). The hydrographic service named this feature in 1927 after William McNiffe (1828–91), who received Crown grants of land in the vicinity in 1884. He was a native of Sligo, Ireland, and a very early immigrant to Victoria, arriving in 1858.
