Meade Point

Meade Point (52˚30'00" 129˚01'00" E side of Weeteeam Bay, SW side of Aristazabal I). Lance Cpl John Meade was a member of the Columbia detachment of Royal Engineers, which served in BC 1858–63. He came to the PNW on the Thames City with the main contingent of men, and he good-humouredly participated in the ship’s theatrical performances, playing an “oyster girl,” a carabineer, Mrs Wiffles and Mariette in various productions.
