Merry Island


Merry Island (49˚28'00" 123˚55'00" Between Thormanby Is and SW side of Sechelt Peninsula, S entrance to Welcome Passage, Str of Georgia). A wealthy but unpopular Glasgow MP and industrialist named James C Merry (1805–77) was the owner of the racehorse Thormanby, winner of the Epsom Derby in 1860.
