Monk Bay

Monk Bay (52˚40'00" 128˚52'00" Head of Laredo Sd, S end of Princess Royal I). Minnie Young (1865–1943) was born at London, England, and came to Victoria with her parents in 1870. She married Edward John Monk (1865–1941) at Victoria in 1887. He was a teamster, also from England, who arrived in Canada in 1873. The Monks participated in the Victoria old-timers’ reunion of 1924 (see Adams Bay). Monk Bay was named in 1927.
