Mooyah Bay


Mooyah Bay (49˚38'00" 126˚27'00" SW side of Muchalat Inlet, SE of Anderson Point, Nootka Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Named in 1934 after the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nation reserve at the head of the bay, once the site of a winter village of the Muchalaht people. A large logging camp has been located on the bay for many years. The Mooyah R enters the ocean here.
