Moresby Islets

Moresby Islets (52˚58'00" 132˚21'00" W of Hibben I, Englefield Bay, NW side of Moresby I, QCI). John Moresby (d 1922) was the third son of Adm Sir Fairfax Moresby (see Moresby I). He also served on the Pacific Station, as a gunnery lt aboard HMS Thetis, 1851–53, under Capt Augustus Kuper. Moresby spent time on the China Station, participating in the 1863 bombardment of Simonoseki, Japan, as cdr of HMS Argus.
