Mount Tuam


Mount Tuam (48˚43'37" 123˚29'05" SW end of Saltspring I, Gulf Is). This name is an adaptation of the Cowichan (Quw’utsun’) First Nation word chuan, which can be translated as “facing the sea.” It first appears on an Admiralty chart published in 1861. Variant spellings are often seen, including Chuan, Tsuam, Tuan and Tchuan.
