Mozino Point

Mozino Point (49˚51'00" 126˚41'00" NE end of Tahsis Narrows, W of Tahsis Inlet, W side of Vancouver I). José Mariano Moziño (1757–1820) made the first detailed scientific survey of the native inhabitants and flora and fauna of BC. Born in Mexico and educated at the Tridentino Seminary, he graduated in philosophy in 1778 and then took a degree in medicine.
