Mudge Inlet

Mudge Inlet (52˚58'00" 132˚08'00" Between Mitchell Inlet and Peel Inlet, Kuper Inlet, NW side of Moresby I, QCI). Henry Colton Mudge (1829–73) was a marine lt aboard HMS Thetis, under Capt Augustus Kuper, and served on the Pacific Station, 1850–53. In 1852 the Thetis was sent to NW Moresby I to conduct a survey of the area and maintain a naval presence after the recent discovery of gold in the vicinity.
