Murcheson Cove

Murcheson Cove (48˚53'21" 123˚20'05" SE side of Galiano I, Gulf Is). Findlay Murcheson (1827–1910) was born in Scotland and came to Canada in 1851. His wife, Mary (1830–1909), joined him in 1854. The Murchesons arrived on Galiano in 1882 and homesteaded on Whaler Bay. Findlay, who became a road foreman, fire warden and school trustee on the island, received a Crown grant for his property in 1903.
