Nicomekl River (49˚04'00" 122˚52'00" Flows SW into Mud Bay, E of Boundary Bay, SE of Vancouver). An HBC party, led by chief trader James McMillan, paddled up this 25-km-long stream in 1824 while exploring the lower Fraser Valley. The expedition left the Nicomekl at its head, followed a portage route to the Salmon R and descended the Salmon to the Fraser R. Three years later, McMillan established Ft Langley just N of the mouth of the Salmon (the trading post would later be rebuilt farther E)....
