North Pender Island

North Pender Island (48˚47'00" 123˚17'00" One of the main Gulf Is). Named after RN hydrographer Daniel Pender; see Pender Canal for biographical details. N and S Pender islands were once connected by a narrow neck (called Indian Portage), and the combined land mass was known as Pender I.
