Parlane Islet


Parlane Islet (53˚36'00" 130˚35'00" N approach to Griffith Hbr, off NW end of Banks I, Hecate Str). Peter Strachan Parlane (1888–1968) returned from overseas service in WWI and worked on the BC coast for the Canadian Hydrographic Service. He served as coxswain of one of CGS Lillooet’s launches in the early 1920s. Parlane married Dorothy Jane Horton (1890–1981) at Victoria in 1922. He died at Saanich, his wife at Prince George.
