Parminter Point


Parminter Point (48˚54'00" 123˚36'00" W of St Mary Lake, W side of Saltspring I, Gulf Is). Rev Henry Parminter (d 1899) was the chaplain aboard HMS Ganges, the flagship of Rear Adm Robert Baynes, cdr-in-chief on the RN’s Pacific Station, 1857–60. He was first appointed a chaplain in the RN in 1850 and served on the N America and W Indies stations, 1852–56, with HMS Vestal.
