Pellow Islets (48˚44'00" 123˚21'00" Off E side of Portland I, N of Sidney and Saanich Peninsula). According to Tom Koppel, author of Kanaka: The Untold Story of Hawaiian Pioneers in BC and the PNW, this name refers to John Palua (c 1818–1907, also known as Johnny Pallow, Pellow, Palau or Polua).
