Phillimore Point

Phillimore Point (48˚52'00" 123˚23'00" W side of Galiano I, SE of Parker I, Gulf Is). Lt Henry Bouchier Phillimore (1833–96) served on the Pacific Station, 1858–60, aboard HMS Ganges, flagship of Rear Adm Robert Baynes. He was promoted to capt in 1864 and commanded several warships, including HMS Sphinx and Belleisle. Phillimore was appointed a rear adm and was made a CB in 1880. He retired as an adm in 1892. Named by RN surveyor Capt George Richards of HMS Plumper in 1859.
