Pivot Mountain


Pivot Mountain (54˚00'56" 132˚59'52" E side of Beresford Bay, NW end of Graham I, QCI). This prominent, 586-m peak is somewhat isolated and thus easily identified by mariners. It was named before WWI during a survey of the region for oil and coal, though the origin of the name is unknown. It is apparently known as Sqat-telagans to the Haida people. D
