Poett Nook

Poett Nook (48˚53'00" 125˚03'00" S side of Numukamis Bay, NE side of Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Dr Joseph Henry Poett was a British physician who immigrated to San Francisco and established a practice there in 1849, after living for many years at Santiago, Chile. He became a large landowner in the San Mateo area. Poett visited Victoria in 1860–61 and took a great interest in potential deposits of copper at Barkley Sd.
