Point Cowan

Point Cowan (49˚20'00" 123˚22'00" SE end of Bowen I, Howe Sd, NW of Vancouver). George Henry Cowan (1858–1935) was an Ont lawyer who moved to Vancouver in 1893 to practise law and politics. He was the city’s solicitor, 1907–10, served as a Conservative MP, 1908–11, and wrote an anti-Asian pamphlet that helped increase the head tax paid by Chinese immigrants.
