Polkinghorne Islands

Polkinghorne Islands (50˚48'00" 126˚56'00" Just W of Broughton I, NE side of Queen Charlotte Str, NE of Port McNeill). RN officer Charles James Polkinghorne was master of HMS Fantome, a brig on the Australia Station, 1850–56. He was appointed cdr of HMS Cumberland, guardship at Sheerness dockyard, in 1864, then served in HMS Achilles before becoming a capt and harbourmaster at Portsmouth dockyard in 1874.
