Pope Rocks

Pope Rocks (49˚02'00" 125˚20'00" In Toquart Bay, NW side of Barkley Sd, W side of Vancouver I). Frederick Samuel Pope (b 1864), from England, pre-empted land NW of Toquart Bay in 1892. He was listed that same year in the Victoria directory as a clerk at Victoria’s Albion Iron Works. Frederick married Elizabeth S Stafford at Victoria in 1893, and the Pope family may have moved later to S California. Formerly known as Black Patch Rks.
