Powell Island (53˚41'00" 132˚22'00" S side of Masset Inlet, Graham I, QCI). William H Powell (1884–1948) was one of the hydrographers taking part in a survey of this area conducted in 1910 by Lt Cdr Philip Musgrave of the Canadian Hydrographic Service. Powell also participated in a survey of Dixon Entrance that year but then resigned at the end of the season. He was born in NS and graduated from McGill Univ with an engineering degree in 1909.
