Princess Bay (48˚43'00" 123˚22'00" SE end of Portland I, NE of Saanich Peninsula, Gulf Is). This name was adopted in 1978 in association with Princess Margaret Marine Park, which comprises the whole of Portland I. The park was named in 1967 after the sister of Queen Elizabeth II, who visited BC in 1958 (see Portland Bay for more information). Princess Bay was formerly known as Princess Margaret Bay and Tortoise Bay.
