Pruth Bay

Pruth Bay (51˚39'00" 128˚07'00" W end of Kwakshua Channel, NW end of Calvert I, S of Bella Bella). The Pruth was a 327-tonne HBC barque and supply ship that sailed, under master Thomas Meay, from London to Victoria in 1861. A record also exists of the Pruth sailing from London to NZ in 1858. The vessel was named for a river in Russia. In the 2000s, Pruth Bay was the site of a luxurious fishing lodge called The Cliffs at Hakai Beach.
