Queen Island


Queen Island (53˚42'00" 132˚57'00" In entrance to Port Louis, W side of Graham I, QCI). This feature was named by Port Clements townsite promoter Eli Tingley in 1911, on the invitation of regional hydrographer Lt Cdr Philip Musgrave. Tingley chose to honour his 9-m boat, designed in classic Columbia R gillnetter style and named the Queen.
