Russell Channel

Russell Channel (49˚14'00" 126˚06'00" S of Flores I, Clayoquot Sd, W side of Vancouver I). John W Russell (b 1866), from Ont, was a Presbyterian missionary who, in 1895, established a mission at Ahousat on Flores I in Clayoquot Sd, later building a church and a small day-school there. He had originally come to the W coast, accompanied by his wife, Adeline (b 1866), and their four children, to teach at Ucluelet. Russell is believed to have resigned his position about 1903 due to poor health....
