Salish Sea (49˚30'00" 124˚00'00" Includes Str of Georgia, Juan de Fuca Str and Puget Sd). In 1990, Bert Webber, a US marine sciences professor, proposed a unified name for the bodies of water—Str of Georgia (qv), Juan de Fuca Str (qv) and Puget Sd—straddling the Canada-US border on the Pacific coast.
