Sallas Rocks (48˚35'00" 123˚17'00" S of Sidney I, W side of Haro Str, Gulf Is). Sallas, a First Nation name for Sidney I (qv), was adopted by HBC officials about 1850 and used by early settlers for many years—even after Capt George Richards of HMS Plumper officially changed the island’s name to Sidney in 1859.
