Salmon Cove


Salmon Cove (55˚16'00" 129˚50'00" W side of Observatory Inlet, N of Nass Bay, NE of Prince Rupert). Named in 1793 by Capt George Vancouver “from the abundance of that kind of fish that were there taken.” Crew members put a seine net across the mouth of a creek entering the cove and packed away thousands of spawning fish for future use.
