Sandpiper Beach

Sandpiper Beach (49˚30'00" 124˚38'00" SE side of Hornby I, Str of Georgia). This name was adopted in 1976 after a subdivision of “summer or retirement properties” was developed in the area by the Nanaimo Realty Co. Two creeks and a lake in BC are also named for this family of dainty shorebirds.
