Scoones Point (48˚52'08" 123˚18'37" SE end of Galiano I, Gulf Is). British seaman Alexander Edward Scoones (1876–1952) bought 2.5 ha of land at Mary Ann Point from the Burrill brothers in 1897 and settled down there for several years before returning to England to complete an engineering course.
