Second Beach (49˚18'00" 123˚09'00" E side of English Bay, W of Lost Lagoon, Vancouver). In 1858, Second Beach served as a campground for miners en route to the Fraser R gold rush. Later, it became a favourite spot for social and family outings for local residents. The name refers to the fact that as one moves N along the shoreline away from the W End, this is the second main beach encountered.
