September Morn Beach

September Morn Beach (49˚22'00" 123˚20'00" E side of Bowen I, Howe Sd, NW of Vancouver). According to members of the Dorman family, who owned this property, the name is derived from a famous nude painting, Matinée de septembre, by French artist Paul Émile Chabas. The image, which shows a woman standing in shallow water preparing to swim or bathe, was shown without controversy in Paris in 1912.
