Shannon Rock (52˚56'00" 129˚34'00" Entrance to Pemberton Bay, S side of Dewdney I, Estevan Group, NW side of Caamaño Sd). William Shannon (1843–1928) was born at Sligo, Ireland, and immigrated to Ont with his parents in 1849. He and his brother Thomas sought their fortunes in the wider world and eventually arrived in BC, via S America, Mexico and California, about 1863 for the Cariboo gold rush.
